Mid Island Co-op Loyalty Card Green Fund 2016 Project
Mid Island Co-op is a community member owned and operated business that is committed to support the local communities that we operate in. As a part of this local support Mid Island Co-op has made a commitment to environmental sustainability within the communities we serve. The Co-op has created a “Green Fund” that will be use to enhance the environment at our sites or within our trading area through one local project a year.
Funds are generated each time a member reloads their Mid Island Co-op Loyalty fuel card at any Mid Island Co-op location. The more you reload the more funds are generated.
The project that has been selected for this year is the riparian zone reclamation and enhancement of Beadnell Creek in the town of Lake Cowichan. This is a salmon bearing stream that is a part of the Cowichan River system and is a section of the stream that leads up to the Cowichan Lake Salmonid Enhancement Society fish hatchery.
